I know that I only post around here once a week, but I have many recipes that I have posted only on instagram and I would also like to put them here, since it is easier to have everything organised and at hand. So please have me patient this week 🙏🏽 This time I bring you a sweet and sour cauliflower, super easy to make and delicious, of course!
If I tell you the truth, I was not very fond of cauliflower, but little by little I have known its versatility and I love it! With it you can do a million things! This time I have prepared it sweet and sour, with pineapple, lemon and sesame seeds.
Sweet and sour cauliflower:
1 cauliflower cut into florets
2 tablespoons cornstarch
1 tablespoon of olive oil
Ingredients for the sweet and sour sauce:
1/2 cup of apple cider vinegar
2 tablespoons of soy sauce
1/2 cup of sugar panela
1/4 cup ketchup
1 teaspoon fresh grated ginger (you can also use ginger powder)
1 teaspoon turmeric powder
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon of pepper
1/2 cup pineapple cut into pieces
In a ziplock bag mix the cauliflower with the olive oil, after the cauliflower is well coated with the oil, add the cornstarch to the bag and mix well so that the cauliflower is impregnated with the cornstarch. Take to the oven at 200 degrees Celsius (420 Fahrenheit) for 15 minutes.
Method for the sauce:
Mix all the ingredients of the sauce except the pineapple. Bring to a boil stirring constantly until it thickens. Now add the pineapple and remove from heat.
Bathe the cauliflower well with this sauce and ready!.
Garnish with sliced lemon and sesame seeds.
Note: this same sauce can also be used to make sweet and sour tofu like I did in this picture 😉
