I know there are many recipes lately, but I don´t know why now the inspiration comes in the kitchen, and I have to take advantage of it 😬. For me cooking is an act with which I tell my family how much I love them, the kitchen relaxes me, in it I feel super creative and special.
On this occasion my children have prepared the tasty recipes that I present to you today. Children love to help in the kitchen! when they are cooking they feel like big kids, it helps them to be independent, teaches them to follow instructions and to obey; at least mine, when we are cooking together they obey me more 😀 But that’s not all, cooking also helps children to improve concentration, they learn to collaborate and of course, it blows their imagination!
Allow the little ones in the house to make these recipes, I assure you that they will love them and will have a ton of fun! Cooking is also an excellent way to introduce them to have healthy eating habits.
As I said before, cooking is an act of love and as such, strengthens family ties. There is a saying “Family that prays together, stay together” and I believe that because we love to pray too! But I also believe that family that cooks together, stay together. In the kitchen are built memories so warm, full of aromas and flavors. Who doesn’t remember when they were children and the family met on special dates and cook all together in the kitchen? I remember my aunts and grandmother, one making the salad, the other the rice, and so on. Those memories are so incredible that as soon as we smell a similar aroma now, we move to that time with our mind and heart. The images of those memories in our head start to flow one after the other and they make us sigh and long for those times.
That is precisely what I want for my kids, that when they are adults still remember the special moments we are creating now. That they remember us cooking together as an act of love, an act of love that will last a lifetime.
The first recipe for this special post is by Alejandro, who will teach us how to make a tasty hazelnut and chocolate cream (Nutella)
Vegan hazelnut cocoa spread (Nutella)
150 grams of toasted hazelnut
100 grams of toasted almonds
50 grams of agave syrup
15 grams of cocoa powder
90 milliliters of almond milk
In the processor crush the hazelnuts and almonds, until it is creamy like butter. About 10 minutes to be homogeneous and without lumps.
After the hazelnut butter is made, add cocoa powder, agave and almond milk to the processor. Beat again until everything is well mixed.
The recipe #2 is a smoothie by María José, who will teach us how to make her favorite banana smoothie. Making this simple recipe Maria Jose felt so happy and satisfied! Cooking also brings confidence to children.
María José’s favorite banana smoothie
40 gr of blueberries
40 gr of raspberry
40 grams of muesli
1/3 cup of almond milk
Process all ingredients, serve and decorate with happy face of fruits.
Vegan Corn dogs
I know what you are thinking, this recipe is not healthy! hahahaha I know, but what can I tell you? my children love it and since I am looking for ways to introduce them to veganism, I thought that making one of your favorite foods with vegetarian ingredients would be an excellent choice, and it was! These corn dogs with tofu sausages were super delicious and the children devoured it in minutes! … Well, the children and me.
4 tofu sausages
3/4 cups wheat flour + 1/4 cup extra
3/4 cup corn flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
2 1/2 cup of panela sugar
1 cup of almond milk + 1/3 cup extra
Salt and pepper to taste
8 Wooden sticks
2 cups of vegetable oil
Cut the sausages in half and then insert a wooden toothpick into each sausage.
In a deep dish mix the 1/4 cup of extra flour and the 1/3 cup of extra almond milk. Set apart
In another deep bowl, mix all the dry ingredients, including salt and pepper. Then you add the milk and mix well. This mixture should look like pancake mix.
We deep the sausages first for the first mixture we made with the extra ingredients, then we deep it in the second mix and cover all the sausage. With the help of an adult fry in the hot oil until they are golden brown.
Put to drain on paper towels. Eat them with ketchup.
Vegan chorizo pizza
1 pizza dough (already made, I buy it in the carrefour in the area of organic products)
1 chorizoja (vegan sausage)
1/2 cup mozzarella-type vegan cheese
3 slices of vegan cheddar cheese
1/3 green pepper cut into slices
5 black olives
For the sauce:
1/2 cup of tomato sauce
2 tablespoons of ketchup
1/2 teaspoon of oregano powder
1/2 teaspoon of ground basil
a pinch of salt
We make the sauce by mixing all its ingredients.
We take the dough for pizza and open it, extending it and leaving it on the paper that it brings (follow the instructions on the package) On top of the dough we put the sauce evenly spread, on top we put the vegan mozzarella cheese and on top the cheddar vegan cheese. Then we put the green pepper, the chopped olives and finally the chorizo.
bake at 200º Celsius (390º Fahrenheit) for 20 minutes.
I don´t know for how long I hadn´t eat popcorn made with real corn. And is that modernism and wanting to do things easy, sometimes take us away from the natural things, we forget even the things that made us happy when we were children. When the popcorn began to jump, the emotion of Maria José was such, that she jumped and run all over the kitchen.
1 Teaspoon of coconut oil
3 tablespoons corn for popcorn
Put the oil in a cooking pot with medium heat, add the popcorn, cover it and wait for the fun!
